Technology Certifications

 

Technology is an important component of almost any career program and a cornerstone in the curriculum program of the Academy of Business and Leadership Education (ABLE).  All students will be expected to master the necessary skills to operate a computer, create a document, surf the Internet, use appropriate software effectively and integrate technology into all other curricular areas.

 

Basic Group - prerequisite for the next two programs:

Level One - Computer Basics
1.  Hooking Up the Computer
2.  Computer Operation
3.  Data Storage and Replication
4.  E-mail
5.  Internet

Level Two - Word Processing

Level Three - Spreadsheets - typical office suite, such as Microsoft Office

Level Four - Presentations

Level Five - Web Design (This would focus primarily on the actual writing of HTML)



Graphics Group

Graphics Level One - Digital Cameras


Graphics Level Two - Graphics and Photo Manipulation (an introduction to Photoshop)

Graphics Level Three - 2D Graphic Design (more on Photoshop and an introduction to

                                         Illustrator with basic graphic design concepts)

Graphics Level Four - Desktop Publishing

Graphics Level Five - 3D Graphic Design (designing and rendering graphics in a 3D

                                      application)

Graphics Level Six - Animation (animated graphics using all previous knowledge)



Systems Group

Systems Level One - System Setup and Maintenance

Systems Level  Two - Introduction to Programming (an introduction to programming

                                     concepts, logic, and common data structures)

Systems Level Three - Basic Computer Design

Systems Level Four - System Troubleshooting and Repair (diagnose possible problems

                                     with a system and attempt to fix them)

Systems Level Five - Programming (more application and practice than the previous

                                    programming certification)

Systems Level Six - Networks (understanding networking and how data is transferred

                                  over local area networks and the internet)
